Well now that you are here, Hi! There are so many DJs you can Google, I am amazed. I think it is great that the industry has evolved with the ability to download giving the average cash strapped laptop dj a lot more access to a wider music base. Personally I prefer to own the original, but hey thats just me. recently we had the discussion amongst the djs in our 26 yr old agency about pricing and how the client reacts to one being more "expensive" than the other. My 6 words on this are simple. You bond with your DJ. when you call him or the agency you get that feeling that they are in control, which, even if you are a control freak ( ha ha ) yourself, you actually want at your wedding. This is a dj that will act on your guidelines and mould them around the recipe for a great party. So, chat to a few DJs and see which "size" fits your gut feel. Price is always a place to start and I believe that you will always find someone cheaper who is a good salesman. listen to your gut feel and to how your requests are dealt with. Is he listening and understanding what YOU require. That along with a good sense of crowd control and a great taste of music makes a great DJ. There is no price put on this. If you have a tight budget spend where you are going to get the best "bang" for your buck. Maybe photography is your thing, or Video or the food is the most important. make a list of the important stuff and then attach a monetary value to each item. Once you have reduced everything to some kind of priority then you can better argue where you want to spend your money and more importantly what you can afford. Sometimes more is not neccessarily better. I am priced at the upper end of the market but I believe, truly, that I make the difference between a cheaper option and what I can offer. The money is nice, but an ecstatic bride hanging onto her husband as they prepare to leave the venue, smiling from ear to ear.....priceless...... ha ha ha, i really waffle sometimes

I have been a DJ for half of my life. I guess I am a born entertainer, 3 kids to keep me grounded and a loving fiancee to keep me inspired. To say I love what I do is an understatement. I run Red Cap Radio for Mr Price and have done so for 14 years, I have played music for two of our past presidents , travelled all over South africa and still get a huge kick out of making the function best it could possibly be.

I am not set on what type of function I prefer and I do not charge more if I think you can afford it.....I do however expect to give you more. More fun, service, advice and a great party. I am more than just a DJ. I like to be involved. If you have a nervous or should I say over zealous function co-ordinator or MC ( or maybe you Mom, ha ha ha) Leave them to me. I like to know as much as I can so when you get to the function everything that you wanted has been done. If you need a broom, wet face cloth or a bottle of Moet champagne, leave it to me.

As far as sound goes, I believe that it needs to be loud enough. A noisy disco is not because the music is being played too loud but because the speaker system is not great. Mine is the mercedes benz of sound systems and with my years of experience the trick is in how it is all setup. Utilising the rooms dynamics to my best ability you will hear all the speeches perfectly and the music sufficiently.

Speaking of music.....I like it all. My system allows the interaction with over 17 000 party songs from the 50s to 2009 and beyond. I update it weekly with only original music. I guess you could say I am a pop DJ. If you are having a party and I do not have your specific request , feel free to bring it to me and I will gladly play it for you. The same goes for requests on the night, BRING THEM ON.I have a samro license as well.

I do not do lighting, but can organise it to be hired for you.
